After many weeks of preparations and controversy, the Formula E Race gets underway today.
Getting to the race site by car will be difficult because of all the road closures and no parking signs in the area bounded by Berri, Notre Dame, Papineau and René-Levesque as well as streets around it.
You can take the STM bus and metro for free today and tomorrow and you can get off at the Berri-UQAM, Champ-de-Mars or Papineau station. Many bus routes in the area have been changed.
Pedestrian footbridges are set up at at Berri and René-Levesque, Berri and St. Antoine and René-Lévesque and Papineau.
Access for people with reduced mobility is at Berri and de la Gauchetière.
Tickets range from around 80 bucks to $220.
The race site is open between 7:30 in the morning until 6:30 at night, with the race beginning at about 4 p.m. in the afternoon both days.
That means residents won't be able to get to their homes with their cars during that time - they will have access between 6:30 at night unitl 6:30 in the morning.
The Ville Marie tunnel westbound, exits for the Old Port and the Jacques Cartier Bridge off the Ville Marie tunnel eastbound, the southern part of Papineau and other major routes will re-open Monday at 5 a.m.
It'll take about 10 days to dismantle the race site.
