The Quebec Health Ministry says the number of reported cases of Lyme disease has increased this year.
There have been 65 cases reported so far, compared to 43 at this time last year.
Radio Canada says the majority of the cases were reported in the Eastern Townships and Montérégie.
In 2016, 179 Quebecers contracted Lyme disease.
It is transmitted by a tick bite and the early symptoms could include a rash, fever, headache, muscle and joint pain and swollen lymph nodes.
Treatment involves a course of antibiotics.
