It looks like Tauseef Bhatti and his family will be spending their holidays at the Holiday Inn.
The family has already spent seven months in two hotel rooms since the spring floods damaged their Ile-Bizard home.
The Bhattis are one of several families living in a hotel since the floodings affected Quebec earlier this year.
They were still waiting to hear whether their home will be salvaged or demolished after their home was inspected three months ago.
In a CJAD 800 interview, Bhatti recounted his wife calling him in tears while she described the waters that flowed into their basement "like a tsunami."
Sandbags were unable to block the rising amounts of water that prevented the family from getting to their SUV parked in their driveway.
"They were all crying," Bhatti said.
The family was unable to save anything from their home before they left for the hotel.
Three months later, Bhatti and his family received zero contact from city officials after reaching out to the recommended 311 emergency line.
It took the family four months to get an inspection on their home.
But Bhatti says nothing has happened since and that the process has been very slow.
"As a father it just breaks my heart... I'm helpless. I cannot help my kids, they are suffering."

Bhatti said he remained hopeful that the next government action plan will help him and his family get back home.
"We want to go back to our home", said Bhatti.
He also said that the money the government spent on their hotel rooms would have been better spent on repairing their home.
