What a shock for a woman driving along the 20 on the West Island this week.
A spade smashed through her windshield.
Sacha Boutros told the Aaron Rand show how it happened.
"I never saw anything coming, all of a sudden I felt a bit of an impact, the glass did shatter. It took me a couple of seconds to sort of realize what was going on and by the time I focused, I noticed there was a shovel sticking right through my windshield pointed directly at me", said Boutros.
Boutros suffered minor cuts from the shattered glass.
She said the shock didn't set in until later, that she didn't even flinch when it happened because it was quick.
"I think I only started to freak out once I managed to put my car into park and actually realized what had just happened and then I went into complete shock", added Boutros, who said she was covered in glass and then began hyperventilating and crying.
It wasn't clear where the spade, which had no handle, came from or how it ended up embedded in the woman's windshield.
Boutros also said it was a good thing her car is two months-old, that had it happened to her old car, the spade might have pierced completely through an older windshield.
