Concordia University professor Homa Hoodfar has been released from an Iranian prison, after spending the past three months in captivity.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson was quotey by the state-run Fars news agency as saying the 65-year-old Hoodfar was released on Monday afternoon for "humanitarian reasons, including illness".
The spokesperson, Bahram Qasemi, also says Hoodfar "has left Iran to Canada, through Oman".
