The city of Montreal has decided to go ahead with its seventh snow removal operation of the winter season Thursday evening.
About 20 centimetres of snow fell on the city in the last 48 hours or so — more than enough for the city to consider clearing the streets.
That will begin Thursday night at 7 p.m., and continue over the next four or five days. That means, of course, the orange no-parking signs are going up all over town, and you will have to respect them, or risk having your car towed away.
Once again, you can track the city's progress by visiting the city's dedicated snow-removal web site, or by downloading the Info-Neige app.
Online, you can find the city's list of free parking spaces it will make available to motorists for the duration of the operation.
It's the fifth snow removal operation to happen since January 1st, which means the city has just about blown it $150 million snow removal budget for the entire calendar year.
