A helicopter crashed in Drummondville Thursday night.
Witnesses called 9-1-1 after seeing a fireball in a field in the Rang-St-Jean-Baptiste sector at about 9:00 P.M.
Marc Descoteaux, a worker at a nearby farm, was one of the first to see the fire. Descoteaux called his nephew Guy, a ski-do owner, to go check the crash site.
When Guy realized it was a helicopter that had crashed, he called police.
Investigators say there were three people, one man and two women between the ages of 30 and 50, inside the helicopter at the time of the crash. All have been confirmed dead.
A snow plow was brought in to clear a path so emergency crews could access the crash site. Due to the amount of snow in the area the site was only accessible by ski-do.
It's not yet known where the helicopter was coming from or where it was going.
The Transportation Safety Board and the Sûreté du Québec are working together to determine the cause of the crash.
