Harvey Weinstein has been fired by his own film company. The Weinstein Company's board of directors said in a statement that the decision was made "in light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days."
Robert Weinstein, Harvey's brother, was one of the four remaining members of the company's board, after three others resigned earlier in the weekend. He, along with Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar, voted unanimously to expel Harvey Weinstein from the company.
A New York Times expose on Thursday revealed that Weinstein, a powerful figure in Hollywood, has faced a long list of sexual harrassment accusations dating back decades. Weinstein has since apologized for "behaving improperly" at times during his career, and for causing pain.
