Max Pacioretty apparently never asked to be traded.
Among other things, a report said he was almost traded to the Los Anegles Kings.
But, TSN 690's Chris Nilan told Mitch Melnick the player they call Patch, whom Nilan spoke with by phone, doesn't want a trade.
"I inquired, said what the hell, what are you doing, what are you a disturber, trying to get yourself put out of town? He never asked for a trade. Max Paciorertty never asked for a trade."
Melnick replied "never, not once?"
Nilan then said "no".
Pacioretty, who wants to stay in Montreal, but the team's against that, passed on a six-year, $36-million extension from what would have been his new team.
Pacioretty's going into the final season of a deal that counts for $4.5 million against the salary cap.
Then, he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
