Guy Turcotte has decided against appealing the 2nd degree murder guilty verdict in the stabbing deaths of his young children.
A spokesman for the Crown said the former cardiologist will appeal the length of the sentence he has to serve before he can be eligible for parole.
He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance at parole for 17 years.
Turcotte was found not guilty durng a first trial, but the verdict was overturned by a higher court and a second trial was ordered.
The second verdict was rendered a year ago.
Turcotte killed 3-year old Anne-Sophie and 5-year old Olivier in February, 2009.
