A man from the Quebec City region says he may never know for sure what ailment took the life of his wife during a family cruise in the Caribbean earlier this month.
37-year old Karine Tondreau of Lévis was found dead in her bed in the family's cabin on the cruise ship Freedom of the Seas.
Husband Christian Beaulieu and the couple's two children accompanied the body when it was offloaded at Saint Kitts and sent for an autopsy.
Beaulieu has doubts about the results, saying the autopsy was conducted in a building resembling a shed with chickens scratching nearby, and the coroner ruled his wife had been felled by a fast-moving kind of leukemia even though she'd had tests before the cruise that ruled out that disease.
Beaulieu tells the Journal de Montreal that he wanted a second autopsy here in Quebec but wasn't able to arrange it.
