Officials at the downtown Grande Bibliothèque are grappling with a bedbug infestation which has forced them to close certain sections of the provincially-run library.
The infestation has gotten so bad that fabric chair coverings have had to be replaced with plastic, and portions of the building have been closed off.
Officials, though, are reassuring the public that those areas which remain open are bug-free, and that exterminators are on site to combat the problem.
There have been infestations at the library before — though past infestations have been isolated ones. This one is a more widespread.
