Two West Island "winter clinics" are opening in the next week to help ease emergency room overcrowding.
Regional health agencies are urging anyone with flu, cold or gastro symptoms or other winter virus-related symptoms to go to the new winter clinics instead of hospital ERs.
They say the goal is "to offer users better and faster medical access in case symptoms get worse or their health condition requires them to seek medical attention."
As of Monday, the winter clinic at the Brunswick Super-Clinic and Family Medicine Group will start offering its services.
The winter clinic at 955 St-Jean Boulevard in Pointe-Claire wil be open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
As of Monday, January 28, the winter clinic at the Mednam Super-clinic and Family Medicine Group in Lachine will start operations.
They will have the same hours: 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The clinic is located at 2000 Notre-Dame Street on the 3rd floor.
Winter clinics in the west end of Montreal have been up and running since Wednesday. They are also open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.:
