If you're fed up with and bothered by the noise coming from planes flying in and out of Trudeau Airport and you want to file a complaint, there's an app for that.
Ahuntsic resident Bill Mavridis, who created the app, said he's been filing complaints about noisy airplanes for the past three years.
The airport authority, Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) has said you can file a complaint by telephone, email or an online form.
"The problem with that is, when it's 11 o'clock at night and a plane flies over your house and you want to file a complaint, what do you do? Get out of bed, go down to your computer, turn it on, and file a complaint? I said, there's got to be an easier way," said Mavridis in an interview with CJAD 800.
"Now we can file a complaint much easier and much faster."
Tap three times in the app and your complaint will be emailed to the ADM.
The app will also tally the number of complaints and where they're coming from.
"The airport contends that most of the problems occur around St. Laurent and Dorval. I live six kilometers away from the airport in Ahuntsic. People all the way in St. Michel complain about the airport noise. I have friends in Laval who complain about the airport noise," said Mavridis.
"By having all this data and plotting all these complaints on a map, we can pinpoint where the problems are."
The mayor of the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough is supporting the idea of the app.
The app is free on GooglePlay for Android phones and through a Beta version for iPhones.
