A familiar face, and voice, will be back for the beginning of the Montreal Canadiens' 2017 playoff run.
Ginette Reno, a Quebec singing legend who became something of a good luck charm for the Habs during their 2014 and 2015 playoff runs, will be back at the Bell Centre on Wednesday night to sing O Canada before Habs tangle with the New York Rangers in the playoff opener.
Reno broke the news on social media, announcing that she would sing the anthem for the opener — and that she also lost 16 pounds.
Neither Reno nor a spokesperson hinted at whether she would make any other appearances beyond Wednesday night's game.
Montrealer Sarah Diamond will since the American anthem.
