The good news, weatherwise: it will get warmer during the day on Monday. The bad news: Montreal's streets and sidewalks will most likely be skating rinks by Tuesday morning's rush hour.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Montreal area. The forecast is calling for light snow to begin falling on Monday evening before a changeover to freezing rain during the overnight hours — which could make the Tuesday morning commute a challenging one.
That freezing rain is expected to change over to rain during the day Tuesday as temperatures climb to 6 degrees by the afternoon.
By Wednesday, the wet weather is expected to give way to more springlike weather. The day's forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies and a high of 7 degrees.
