A fraud trial is set to begin in Montreal on Monday for one of the five people accused in an alleged fraud case involving former SNC-Lavalin executives in the awarding of the contract for the McGill University Health Centre's $1.3 billion superhospital.
Lawyer Yohann Elbaz is among five people charged in the alleged $22 million fraud case.
The others include three former executives with the SNC-Lavalin engineering and consulting giant, and Elbaz's brother, who was a former MUHC executive.
The trial of Yanai Elbaz and two former SNC-Lavalin executives is set to start on Jan. 8, 2019, and is expected to last eight months.
Yohann Elbaz's trial is expected to continue through Dec. 21.
