The Montreal police department and Aéroports de Montréal have been monitoring an ongoing situation at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
According to the Journal de Montreal at least four employees have lost their security clearance in recent months, two have shown signs of radicalization.
Of the four, one employee is said to have regularly visited jihadi and pro-ISIS websites, another had been touting the merits of the Islamic state while sharing propaganda on social media and reading up on different weapons and explosives.
At least one of the employees in question had direct access to the runways and aircrafts but has since been reassigned.

One of the individuals had their access to secure areas revoked after comments were made suggesting a similar bombing attack to the ones that rocked Paris on November 13, 2015. Attackers killed 130 people and injured 369 others during a series of coordinated terrorist attacks that hit the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during a soccer match, crowded cafés and restaurants and a stand-off at the Bataclan theatre.
Two other cards were confiscated after officials noticed some mental health issues that would put the safety of airport operations at risk.
According to the report, three of the individuals, two of whom still work at the airport; have cases that continue to worry police.
