New figures are coming to light about the true and seemingly rising cost of staging last summer's Formula E race.
Radio Canada says the non-profit organization, Montréal c'est électrique, created by the Coderre Administration in 2016 to promote the electric car race can't pay it's bills and has almost exhausted a $10 million line of credit.
It also owes several million dollars in fees to the Formula E organization.
The City is the guarantor for the credit line and has already paid $24 million in related costs for the race last July.
The city has committed to holding three races and holds an option for an additional three races.
Mayor Valerie Plante has said she will not allow next year's race to be held on the streets downtown and is considering other locations.
A report last week suggested that the Saint-Laurent technoparc was being considered by borough mayor Alan DeSousa told CJAD 800 that he had not been consulted on the issue.
