After two months sitting at home collecting his pay, the former chief of the Montreal police force is being reassigned.
La Presse reports that Philippe Pichet was summoned to City Hall yesterday to receive details about his new posting.
He is being put in charge of the security guards who work in some of the city's buildings. They're members of the blue collar workers union.
The reassignment comes as the man who replaced Pichet, interim chief Martin Prudhomme of the SQ, prepares to unveil a reorganization at the end of the month.
Pichet was suspended and Prudhomme brought in after reports of infighting and dubious conduct within the force's internal affairs department.
