Another former high ranking official at Laval city hall is going to prison in connection with a massive system of corruption involving government contracts.
Claude Asselin, the former Laval director-general, was sentenced to two years less a day in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty earlier this month to charges of fraud and conspiracy.
Asselin and 36 other people including former Mayor Gilles Vaillancourt, were arrested in May of 2013.
Vaillancourt was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty in December of last year.
