Flooding has forced the town of Rigaud near the Ontario border to declare a state of emergency.
The town issued a statement Thursday afternoon, urging residents in flooded areas to evacuate immediately — and for those people to advise the town of where they're going.
There will a be a bus going through the town to help evacuating residents go somewhere else.
Residents are being urged to head to the town's library for the time being, and if they can't find a place to stay with family or friends for the night, a temporary shelter will be set up.
For more informations, locals are being asked to call city hall at 450-451-0869, extension 235.
