According to the Quebec government, 90 percent of homes in Montreal impacted by spring flooding have been evaluated.
The next step for flood victims waiting for compensation is analysis of the evaluations.
Hundreds of flood victims who showed up at a public consultation on the West Island Monday night left the meeting with many unanswered questions.
"I feel like we've been let down," says Paolo Symeonides.
Many residents affected by flooding say they have only received a small fraction of the compensation they were promised.
The government is asking people to be patient.
The aim of Monday's meetings was to sound-out a proposal that would see the province create a "special intervention area" in regions prone to regular flooding.
A draft provincial government decree details who can or cannot rebuild a home destroyed or seriously damaged during the historic flooding in late April and early May.
In all, 5,300 homes in 278 communities province-wide were affected by the flooding. As many as 800 homes have been condemned or destroyed.
