While Montrealers wait for the late-winter storm to bring a fresh layer of snow, parts of Canada and the United States have already been hit hard.
By 6:00 A.M. Tuesday there were already dozens of flights canceled across both the arrival and departure boards at Trudeau International Airport. If you're flying to New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington or Chicago you would be best to call ahead as thousands of flights across the United States were grounded.
Passengers heading to Toronto were also greeted with cancelation notices.
Here in Montreal the snow is expected to hit us the hardest this afternoon and early evening. The region is expected to see up to 15 centimeters fall throughout the day Tuesday, with another 15-25 centimeters falling overnight into Wednesday.
Strong winds are also expected, causing plenty of blowing snow and reducing visibility.
Environment Canada suggests postponing non-essential travel during the height of the storm until conditions improve.
