About 150 firefighters battled a major fire in Pierrefonds into the early hours of Sunday morning.
It began late Saturday night in the basement of a commercial building on Gouin near St. John's Boulevard before spreading to the main and second floors.
According to the Montreal Fire Department, the building also housed eight residential units. All of the building's occupants were safely evacuated and no one was hurt.
It is not known what caused the fire.
A ceramics business was housed on the main floor.
Intense cold caused equipment to freeze so several fire trucks were constantly on stand-by.
