Firefighters in Montreal and Laval were busy late Monday into Tuesday with a pair of fires.
The first broke out on the fourth floor of a five storey building on Marie-Anne near de la Roche in the Plateau-Mont-Royal at about 9:30 P.M.
Only the one apartment where the flames broke out was damaged, with firefighters managing to keep them from spreading, minimizing the damage.
About two hours later, a massive fire damaged three homes on Sainte-Rose in the Fabreville district.
The flames started in one home, burning it to the ground, and spread to two others. One of the other homes sustained significant damage, while the third had damage to its side.
There were no reported injuries in either fire, and in both cases the cause is still under investigation.
