A popular Pointe-Aux-Trembles eatery has been forced to close after a violent fire broke out in the kitchen overnight on Sunday.
It took over 70 firefighters to get the flames pouring out of Teddy’s Deli & Bar under control.
Damage to the Sherbrooke street eatery is estimated at around $700,000.
Firefighters say the structure is still in good shape, but it remains unclear if Teddy's will reopen.
The cause of the fire was an electrical problem in wires inside the kitchen ceiling, according to the Montreal fire department.
