A small fire forced the evacuation of a section of Montreal's Hotel-Dieu hospital Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called at around 2:25 p.m. to the fire which broke out on the roof of the Pavillon Vimont at 3840 St. Urbain St., where renovation work was taking place.
It took about 50 Montreal firefighters a little over an hour to bring the blaze under control. Two people needed to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Much of the hospital's main operations have been transferred to the new CHUM superhospital downtown, but there are still four clinics operating in another pavillion. They remain open.
