A report says some Montreal bus users are getting fed up with Montreal Transit Corporation delays and cancellations.
The Gazette says they're now taking their own cars.
A recent report showed ridership on Montreal city buses dropped 13 per cent over a five-year period.
One user tells the newspaper, "people call their family members and ask for lifts, but many bus users have no other options."
The same user, who's reconsidered her decision to stop taking her car, is quoted saying "waiting 50 minutes in freezing temperatures is no fun."
The paper says "Montreal's bus fleet appears to be in the midst of a maintenance crisis, with a record number of breakdowns, buses running out of fuel more than once a day.
It also says "a record high of three in 10 buses are parked for maintenance or repairs."
