The father of a missing Montrealer in Peru says he's not coming home alone.
22-year old Jesse Galganov communicated with family in late September saying he'd probably be unreachable for a few days during a hiking trip in the Peruvian Andes.
There's been no further contact since.
His father, Todd, who's currently in Peru, spoke with CJAD 800's Dave Kaufman on Saturday, saying the hope that his son is still alive helps him move on.
"Whatever's gonna happen, I have to be realistic for myself and my family that no matter what, Peru's not gonna keep him. He's gonna be taken out of here. Obviosuly, I hope that he's safe and sound", said Galganov.
The family has hired an Israeli company specializing in search-and-rescue missions in remote locations.
