The 27-year-old driver of a car that collided with a street-sweeper early Wednesday morning in Laval may have been under the influence of drugs, according to Laval police.
The accident killed his 34-year-old passenger. The younger man's life is not considered to be in danger, but he is now under arrest.
The accident happened at around 5 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 335 in Laval's Auteuil district.
Police arrested the man in his hospital bed. They say they have reason to believe he was under the influence of some kind of drug.
