After their son was fatally shot by Montreal police eight months ago, a couple have told the Gazette that the provincial police watchdog isn't keeping giving them any valuable information about the circumstnaces of their son's death.
Rachel and Jacob Cohen say they still don't know such critical details as how many officers were on the scene following the car chase that ultimately resulted in their son Noam's death. They also haven't been told if there were any civilian witnesses or nearby video cameras.
Several families have recently criticized the Bureau des Enquetes Independants (BEI) for a lack of transparency as they conduct investigations.
Earlier this week, lawyers representing the family of a man who died during a police intervention over the summer announced they will be suing the City of Montreal over his death. They also released a video that allegedly shows the incident, which took place in June of 2017.
