The family of a 14-year-old boy who drowned during a high school swimming class in February is taking legal action against the school commission and the city of Montreal.
It's suing the the Commission scolaire de Montreal and city for $1.5 million.
It took about 40 minutes before Blessing Moukoko was discovered at the bottom of Rosemont's Pere-Marquette swimming pool.
A coroner’s report found his death could have been avoided, that the gym teacher in charge lacked training, there was a lack of on duty lifeguards at the time.
