Quebec's Health minister says reforms are not to blame.
Gaetan Barrette was commenting following a La Presse report that said the majority of the 9 ER doctor graduates from McGill University left the province in 2015.
The minister, who was a guest on the Aaron Rand show, said what's at stake is simple.
He said there are some doctors coming out of their family-physicians' training, that prefer ER work instead of going into family medicine.
"We don't lack ER physicians in this province, ER positions are filled as we speak and there is no problem in terms of providing services", said Barrette.
The minister went on to say there's a lack of doctors, as he put it, taking charge of patients.
