A listener asked: Are there any harmful medical effects from the static electricity shock that he got every time he went into his car and touched metal?
This is something that I am sure we've all felt at one time or another.
As far as I can tell, there is no scientific evidence of any specific harm from this type of event in general although I can't be sure in the listener's caseĀ as I don't know the details of his own medical background. And of course, there is always the risk of the discharge igniting something that's flammable such as gasoline fumes.
