Faced with a series of problems that has caused commuting headaches, the regional commuter train agency has a potential new solution to get everyone to work on time, double things up.
On Sunday the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM) announced that starting Monday, for the first time, a double-decker train will be running on the Deux-Montagnes line.
The 10 stacked cars will make six trips each day, on a temporary basis, while the RTM ramps up repairs on some of its older cars on the line that has been delay-plagued since the holidays.
If you're daily user of the Deux-Montagnes line and would catch a ride on one of the double-decker cars the train will be heading towards Montreal each morning at 5:50 A.M. (Train 920) and 8:05 A.M. (Train 930). It will return to the Deux-Montagnes station at 6:45 A.M. (Train 921).
In the afternoon you can catch it towards Deux-Montagnes at 3:45 P.M. (Train 941) and 5:50 P.M. (Train 951) and in the Montreal bound direction at 4:43 P.M. (Train 950).
