Quebec doctors will receive less money for administering flu shots this year.
The Quebec Federation of General Practioners (FMOQ) says it has agreed to reduced fees after the Journal de Montreal revealed last year that some doctors had received as much as $5000 a day for supervising flu shot clinics.
In a letter sent to GP's last week federation president Dr. Louis Godin said that this year's rate will range from $11.50 for a patient immunized in a doctor's office to $8.65 for a flu shot administered at a CLSC.
The rate will be reduced to $5.75 and $4.30 respectivley after the 200th patient is seen.
