Protests are being planned across Quebec Wednesday aimed at putting an end to rape culture as well as violence against women.
The "Stop culture du viol" or "Stop Rape Culture" Facebook group is organizing demonstrations in several cities, including Montreal. That event is planned to begin at 6:00 Wednesday evening at Place Emilie-Gamelin.
Organizers say the idea for a demonstration came about following allegations of sexual assault brought forth against National Assembly MNA Gerry Sklavounos, as well as accusations of sexual assault at Laval University this week following a rash of break-ins at school residences.
Events have also been planned in Quebec City, Sherbrooke and Saguenay.
