The Montreal Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) is warning customers there could be significant delays on its Candiac line Thursday and Friday due to protests against the controversial pipeline project in North Dakota.
The transit agency said demonstrations are expected along the outskirts of the Saint-Laurent Railway Bridge that links LaSalle to the Kahnawake Mohawk Reserve. However, unlike the last protest, trains are expected to be able to pass through the demonstration zone, albeit at a significantly reduced speed.
The slowdown is expected to cause trains to be delayed Thursday morning and possibly until the end of Friday.
Commuters are advised to check the AMT's website and Twitter feed for the latest information concerning delayed trains.
