A 17-year-old cyclist was rushed to hospital late Tuesday after colliding with a car in Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
Police said the incident happened at about 11:30 P.M. at the corners of Lajeunesse Street and Henri-Bourassa Blvd.
Witnesses told investigators the cyclist did not stop at a red light as he passed through the intersection. The 49-year-old driver, who had a green light, was not able to stop in time.
Police said speed was not a factor.
The young man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries; doctors said he will recover.
According to police the 17-year-old was not wearing a helmet.
