Two weeks after announcing it would open a new production studio in Saguenay, French video game giant Ubisoft has been getting deluged with CVs from potential workers.
A company spokesperson says hundreds of people have applied to work in the new facility in just the last few days — including from many former residents of the Sagenay-Lac St. Jean region eager to return home to work, and many young people in the area.
On Sept. 5, the company announced plans to pour $135 million dollars into the new Saguenay facility, which would employ 125 people. During the announcement in Chicoutimi that morning, the company announced the new office would focus on the "development of connected experiences that allow millions of players to meet and interact on online game platforms."
The available jobs are highly specialized — artists, programmers and web developers, among others.
The company expects to open the new facility in early 2018.
