A St. Catharines landmark is on the move.
Councillor Lori Littleton says the familiar doorway from the old hospital site is being taken down with plans to eventually display it at the new hospital.
"There will be lots of photos taken as it is taken down. And then its going to be stored. There are some chips in it and things that need to be restored. And then to make sure it gets put back in the right manner as you were saying, so it looks the same as it looks now."
In the meantime, it will be stored by Rankin Construction.
Littleton says consultations are ongoing with Niagara Health to determine how best to display the piece of history, but she hopes to have it installed by next spring or summer.
