The city of Côte Saint-Luc is going to honour the memory of Elie Wiesel.
The Elie Wiesel Remembrance Park will be built at the corner of Cavendish Boulevard and Kildare Road. and will open next spring.
Wiesel was a Holocaust survivor and author and activist.
He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
In a statement, Côte Saint-Luc Mayor Mitchell Brownstein says " Côte Saint-Luc has one of the largest populations, per capita, of Holocaust survivors in the world. It is highly appropriate to honour Elie Wiesel this way posthumously."
Wiesel died in July at the age of 87.
