An apology from the mayor of the Cote Des Neiges-NDG borough.
Russell Copeman did so during an interview on CJAD Friday afternoon.
Many believe he criticized residents for slowing down snow removal operations.
He told Aaron Rand his facebook post was, his words, poorly-worded and ill-advised.
He explained what he was really trying to say was private contractors dump snow from private property onto public domaine.
"That's been going on for years... but, with the volume of snow we have, over 40 centimeters, what happened was, and there are examples all over NDG and Cote des Neiges, of 5 foot and 6 foot-high piles of snow on sidewalks, put there by private contractors. And that makes our job very difficult", said Copeman.
Copeman added he never meant to criticize, "the person who shovels snow from thier front walk way onto the street."
