The newspaper earlier reported that at the time the storm was blowing into the region on Tuesday, March 17, the officer wasn't even on the Island of Montreal. He was in Blainville, north of Laval, visiting a notary to take care of a real estate transaction. This was at 4 p.m., when the captain would ordinary be at work and the storm had already sent some cars skidding off of highways.
