Premier Couillard says why have a minister for Anglophone Affairs when all you need is a contact person for the community instead.
That's what he hinted Monday following calls for an Anglo Affairs office.
The Quebec Community Groups Network is among those who've asked for one after meeting with the premier recently expressng its concerns.
The premier admits he wants to improve relations with the community.
He explained why having an Anglo minister isn't really the way to go.
"That give(s) even the impression that we're creating 2 differtent classes of citizens. We're all Quebecers and I usually like to say rather than anglophones, I'd rather say English-speaking Quebecers, which for me reflects the reality much better, in a much more positive way", said Couillard.
It's not clear when this contact person would be named.
