A local football quarterback is happy to see officials and the Quebec Student Sports Federation taking the issue of head injuries and concussions seriously after he posted a video on Facebook following a recent hard hit... a hit he says was to the head.
Concordia Stingers quarterback Trenton Miller played it coy when asked if he’d be playing this weekend.
He said he’s just taking things day-by-day.
Miller wasn’t trying to go “viral” with his Facebook video, he just wanted colleagues and younger players to take head injuries more seriously.
And he’s got suggestions.
"I think the main thing is, just trying to prevent…like…head-to-head targeting, collisions, so. Like I said, again, if you make the rule black and white where it’s shoulder-down, it’ll help clear that up for everyone", said Miller.
Miller said he’s pleased and kind of surprised by all the public and private messages of support, including from top rivals.
The sports federation has ruled that no rules were broken in the hit against Miller.
