Prominent Canadian comic Mike MacDonald has died, prompting an outpouring of sorrow from the world of comedy.

Long known as one of Canada's favourite standup comedians, MacDonald was raised in Ottawa, and also participated as an actor or writer in a number of movies.
Details of MacDonald's death are not immediately available. He was 63.
