Closing arguments will begin at the Montreal courthouse today for Sabrine Djermane and El Mahdi Jamali who have been accused of trying to leave Canada to commit a terrorist act overseas.
The pair has been in custody since April of 2015 and face charges of attempting to leave Canada to commit a terrorist act, possession of explosives, and committing an act to profit a terrorist organization.
The Crown had presented evidence indicating the couple had planned to travel to Syria to join ISIS.
The defence did not call witnesses and did not present evidence.
