Hundreds of people who work at a cookie factory in east end Montreal will be losing their jobs.
CJAD News has learned that Mondelez Canada on Viau street is closing down at the end of next year.
They make cookies like Fudgee-Os and crackers like Wheat Thins.
"We have 454 colleagues at the facility," said company spokesperson Stephanie Cass in a phone call to CJAD 800. "Right now I can say that the production is moving to other bakeries within our Canadian supply chain."
She says that means all 454 employees will lose their jobs.
Cass says the closure will happen in stages over the next year or so — and the company will be doing everything it can to help its employees adjust.
